Happy Birthday Kodi!
Kodi is 9 today!
He's really serious about this birthday.
Kodi is unimpressed with his gift. He knows its the same Kong that Badger lost under the couch the day before and not actually a new Kong.
But he'll accept it.
"Don't take my present"
So old hat about pictures he practically falls asleep during photoshoots.

Merry Christmas!
This is Badger's first Christmas, and Kodi's billionth. Kodi tolerates the Christmas pictures like he does them every day.
Badger, on the other hand, panics and hides behind things.
Just asking Badger to sit and stay strikes fear into his heart and he goes to ground. Of all the phobias my border collie could have developed he had to get a fear of the 'stay' command? I've never even had the opportunity to correct him, it is as if just the very idea of participating traumatizes him.
Kodi gets it though. We do this 'posing' stuff all the time. He'll show that puppyup how it's done. Such a pro.
Still not sure if it's safe.
Just do what Kodi does. I didn't realize how big he'd got until I saw this picture. They match!
Finally got it figured out. Chin up (a little cookie helps)

Officially not a puppy anymore!
But still a baby.
Today is Badger's first birthday! He had an impromptu birthday party at Bogdan's with his friend Daisy and even cranky old Kodi joined in the fun. The old snow drifts have made for some interesting changes in the landscape back there!

Christmas Tree 4.0
Versions 1-3 met with an unpleasant demise.
Version one got knocked over by puppy playtime. Version two fell apart when I tried to move it so that playtime could be had without mishap, and version three, the most spectacular disaster of all, was knocked over because Badger is afraid of the sound of food cooking in the frying pan. He took refuge under the tree, and knocked it over in his mad dash to a new hiding place behind the couch.
Border collies.
Version 4.0 is now well documented and tied to the ceiling with spider line. Should it be knocked over, everything is being packed up until next year.
I'm missing Victoria horribly this Christmas. I had such a great time last year wandering downtown, visiting the christmas light displays at the gardens, spedning a day with Galen and Stephanie, and then a run up to my aunt's house in Parksville was a huge highlight. Then back to Alberta in time for the actual holiday. Wish I could do it all again. I miss everyone and everything so much.
